Met up with a lot of others today at Roma St Parklands for a Meet & Greet. About 30 turned up and we sat about talking then ventured out to take some macro, then sat around for while again, then more macro. T’was a good day and good to brush the dust off the macro lens as it seems summer has passed me by with little or no macro work this year. I guess I have a few months to make the most of things before the cold sets in.
The caterpillars had almost stripped the plant bare. It was covered with cocoons. I looked for any emerging butterflies but couldn’t see any. I guess the cocoon I’ve shot here is a few days away from emerging, it seemed a bit larger and had changed to this whiter colour where the others were black. There were about 1/2 doz butterflies flying about the tree but it was hard to get a shot as they didn’t land for long.
The crowd from AP (Australian Photography Forum) meet just down the road from J C Slaughter Falls at Mt Coot-tha. Weather didn’t co-operate but we hiked up to Slaughter falls in light rain to check them out. I finished the day soaked but at least that meant that Slaughter Falls were flowing. First time I’ve been there and there’s been some water flowing over the falls.
