Another lunchtime visit to the Roma St Parklands today.

Bees from Roma St Parklands

Today I took a lunch time walk in the opposite direction to yesterday. Today was the Roma St Parklands. The Parklands are a much better macro prospect at the moment than the City botanical Gardens. I found a few bees amongst the flowers.

City Botanical Gardens

Went down to the City Botanical Gardens at lunch today to see what was about. Very slim pickings on the macro front. The flower garden near the Rotunda was closed off but the Hibiscus garden had some Cotton Harlequin Bugs.

Almost to the end of the 2010 SLC Football season. Here’s a series of shots of the SLC boys from over the 2010 season in a slide show.  The controls are at the bottom .

Interesting Book

I’ve been reading Light: Science and Magic: An Introduction to Photographic Lighting, very informative.

Hoverfly

Been busy with work so haven’t picked up the camera that much. Made a bit of time today for a walk down the creek to see what I could find.

I’m Gonna Jump

I'm gonna Jump

Well that’s what a Jumping Spider should do! This one was shot from an unusual angle, usually macro shots don’t work as well when shot from behind, but the space in this one adds tot eh image giving a sense impending motion.

A BIG lunch!

Crab Spider with a Bee

This small Crab Spider looks like it has bitten off more than  it can chew! It’s going to feast for days on this Bee.

Leaf Cutter Bee

Leaf Cutter Bee

If you see a perfectly circular section missing from a leaf it’s probably not been eaten but stolen by a Leaf Cutter Bees.

Something different!

The crowd from AP set out on another Brisbane City Night Walk. Quite different from my normal style of shooting. An alley behind Elizabeth St provided some great shots. Graffiti on the walls and a resting restaurant worker.
